The US and NATO are responsible for the growing military threat in Europe, as well as nationalist sentiments in Ukraine
Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu made this statement on Tuesday, April 27.
“The growing military danger is contributed by the actions of the US and NATO in the European region to increase the combat readiness of troops and strengthen the forward presence. Military infrastructure is being upgraded, and the intensity of operational and combat training is growing”, – he said at a meeting of the CSTO defence ministers’ council. – “Nationalist sentiments in Ukraine are being stirred up, which is provoking armed conflict in Donbass, including in the areas bordering on Russia.”
Shoigu noted that Russia is ready to respond to such actions. For example, an unscheduled inspection of the combat readiness of the troops of the Western and Southern military districts has already been conducted.
