Britain sends the largest aircraft carrier group in history to the Pacific

The campaign will last more than six months

Britain is sending the largest aircraft carrier strike group in history to the Indo-Pacific as part of Washington’s anti-China campaign, which London is backing.

According to Britain’s Ministry of Defence, the submarines and support vessels, led by the newest aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth, will travel 26,000 nautical miles and take part in more than 70 international exercises and operations over 28 weeks.

The scale of the mission will be unprecedented for a 5th generation aircraft carrier strike group of the British Navy, the ministry says. As part of the campaign, the British fleet will interact with US and Dutch ships.
