Kremlin says Putin and Biden may meet in June

The final decision will depend on many factors, said Yury Ushakov, an aide to the Russian head of state

In an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin on the air of the programme “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on Russia-1 TV channel, assistant to the Russian head of state Yuri Ushakov said that a meeting between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden may take place in June, but the final decision will depend on many factors.

Ushakov said that there were “signals, of course,” from the U.S. side about the intention to hold a meeting of the leaders. However, he said, there is no discussion of a summit at the working level yet.

“Not yet, but a signal has been received, we will consider it”, –  the Russian presidential aide said, – “Depending on many factors, we will make a decision, of course.”

Ushakov also said that “June is being mentioned as a possible date for a meeting between Putin and Biden, there are even specific dates. He did not specify the date, only repeating that it was June.
