US authorises Johnson & Johnson to resume use of vaccine despite thrombosis cases

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has come out in favour of renewing the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine despite numerous reports of thrombosis after the vaccination

“After a thorough review of the safety of use, including two meetings of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the FDA has determined that the pause in the use of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 Janssen vaccine in the US should be lifted and use should resume”, – the Center said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also said they were confident in the vaccine’s “efficacy and safety in preventing COVID-19”.

Earlier it was reported that US authorities are investigating another case of a 50-year-old woman dying from thrombosis after being vaccinated with a Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
