US Secretary of State to meet with Central Asian Foreign Ministers

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will hold an online meeting with Central Asian foreign ministers on Friday, EurAsia Daily reports.

The meeting will be attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

“The heads of the foreign ministries will consider topical issues of regional policy, further development of interaction between the Central Asian countries and the United States in the field of economics, ensuring security in the region, combating climate change, as well as promoting a lasting peace in Afghanistan”, – the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, Blinken held a telephone conversation with the ministers of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The head of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Abdulaziz Kamilov, said that during the conversation, they discussed “the results in the field of combating human trafficking and ensuring freedom of religion”.
