“Barking on one of the world powers” – ex-president of Czech Republic criticizes diplomatic war with Russia

The spy scandal and the ensuing diplomatic war with Russia show that the Czech Republic is unable to have its own foreign policy.

This statement was made by the former President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus in an interview for the publication “Blesk”.

“The fact that we are barking at one of the world powers is something for which I am ashamed, and that I am depressed to try to do anything else in this country”, – the politician said.

“For me, this is evidence <…> that we are generally incapable of having a meaningful foreign policy”.

As previously reported by News Front, the Czech authorities unsubstantiatedly accused Russia of involvement in the destruction of an arms depot in Vrbetica in 2014. Weapons were kept there, which, in circumvention of the embargo, were supplied to Ukrainian punishers to kill the residents of Donbass.

Prague has already expelled 18 Russian diplomats. In response, Moscow declared 20 employees of the Czech Embassy in the Russian Federation persona non grata.
