US Senate Committee voted to increase military aid to Ukraine

The draft law on partnership with Ukraine in the field of security (Ukraine Security Partnership Act) was supported by all members of the committee. According to the document, Kiev will also receive lethal weapons from the United States.

As the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova reported on Facebook, in the United States, the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee approved an increase in annual security assistance to Ukraine to $300 million.

“This bill is extremely important and timely in the context of the escalation of Russia’s aggressive behavior towards Ukraine and the buildup of its military presence on the border and in the occupied Crimea”, – the ambassador said.

Further, Markarova reminded, the bill must be approved by the American Congress.
