This time he wants Europe to turn off SWIFT.
According to Korrespondent, in an interview with Reuters released on Thursday night, April 22, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the EU countries need to “keep the Kremlin from using more military force against Ukraine” and disconnect Russia from the SWIFT payment system.
“I have no information to assert that the decision to start a military operation against Ukraine has already been made. And that is why the reaction of the West, the consolidated reaction of the West, is so important now in order to prevent Putin from making such a decision”, – Kuleba said in an interview.
According to the minister, Russia’s ban on access to SWIFT should be introduced as part of a package of new economic sanctions in the event of an escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine. At the same time, Kuleba expressed the hope that on the issue of aid to Ukraine from Western countries “words will not diverge from deeds”.
