U.S. refuses the role of observer role at meetings on Syria in Astana format

According to the US Ambassador to Kazakhstan William Moser, Washington considers the Geneva process under the auspices of the UN to be the most suitable option for resolving the conflict in Syria.

As reported by TASS, at a press conference on Wednesday, the American Ambassador to Kazakhstan, William Moser, said that the United States did not plan to participate as observers in international meetings on Syria in the Astana format.

“We think that the Geneva process under the auspices of the UN is the most suitable option for resolving the conflict in Syria. Because of this, we now do not want to be an observer in another process”, – he said, answering the question whether the United States plans to return as an observer to international meetings on Syria.
