The former White House chief believes that based on the results of the last election, in which he secured the votes of more than 75 million Americans, he still has a high level of support
Former U.S. leader Donald Trump is seriously considering running for president of the United States in 2024, he said on Monday. He said this on Monday night in an interview with the Fox News TV channel.
“First of all, I would like to say that it’s a long way off”, – Trump pointed out in response to a question about the chances of him entering the race in the next presidential election. At the same time, the former White House chief noted that based on the results of the last election, in which he secured the votes of more than 75 million Americans, he still has a high level of support.
“I’ll tell you this: I’m taking it [the idea of running in the next presidential election] very seriously. More than seriously. But legally, I wouldn’t want to expand on that just yet”, – Trump stressed.
In March, the former president said that he intended to make a final decision on whether to run for the US presidency again after the country’s mid-term elections, which will be held in 2022. He had previously expressed confidence that Republicans had a chance of regaining control of both chambers of the US Congress following the 2022 elections. On 28 February, the former leader suggested during a speech at a US conservative conference in Orlando, Florida, that he might run for president again.
