Czech Republic may continue expelling Russian diplomats

First Deputy Prime Minister and interim head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Gamachek said that Prague does not rule out the possibility of further expulsion of members of the Russian embassy

“The reaction of the Russian side was very radical. We take this into account and we will decide in the government what to do next. We are ready to consider all possibilities available to us, including building relations anew on the principle of reciprocity”, –  Gamachek said.

He noted that Moscow expelled 20 staff members from the Czech embassy, although Prague had expelled only 18 diplomats from the Russian embassy. Gamachek stressed that the number of Russian diplomatic mission in Prague is twice as much as the number of Czech diplomatic mission in Moscow.

As News Front reported earlier, the Czech Republic declared 18 Russian diplomats persona non grata, who, according to the Czech Security and Information Service, are allegedly members of the Russian secret services and were involved in the explosions at the military depots in the village of Vrbetica in 2014.
