China is moving closer to Russia, Iran and other countries as the Joe Biden administration tries to rally an anti-Chinese coalition around itself.
Despite the rotation in the White House, the United States continues to confront China. Continuing the destructive policy of his predecessor, Biden is trying to involve other states in the campaign against the PRC. He was recently joined by Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga in revealing criticism of Beijing’s assertive foreign policy.
Last month, the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada, along with the United States, imposed sanctions against China under the pretext of using forced labor in China’s Xinjiang. Moreover, NATO countries have sent their warships to the South China Sea.
Beijing does not intend to put up with such demarches. According to the American agency Reuters, the Chinese authorities are successfully forging relations with other countries, undermining the US anti-Chinese alliance. After tumultuous negotiations held by Chinese and American diplomats in Alaska, China has become even more active in interacting with Russia, Iran and North Korea. A few days after talks with the Americans, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov and then signed a 25-year economic pact with Iran.
Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and South Korea are also under the influence of the PRC, largely due to their obvious economic dependence. Beijing is ready to promise these countries a rapid recovery from the corona crisis. This will make them think twice before joining the United States, writes Reuters.
