The Austrian government will purchase 1 million doses of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.
This was stated by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
“We agree with the purchase of 1 million doses of the Sputnik vaccine, which is already used in more than 50 countries”, – the head of government said.
Kurz hopes for a quick European regulatory filing, noting that each additional Russian vaccine helps save people, provide jobs, and get back to normal life faster.
Austrian Minister of Health Wolfgang Mükstein also considers the Russian drug to be of high quality and expects to start using it.
“Sputnik is good. Registration from EMA is important for me as a condition. There is already agreement in this direction”, – the minister said.
