The Chinese Embassy in Tokyo stressed that “the negotiations and joint statements by the leaders of Japan and the United States contained unfounded accusations against the PRC”.
According to TASS, on Saturday, the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo, in response to talks between the leaders of the United States and Japan and their comments on Hong Kong, Taiwan and Xinjiang issues, issued a statement in which China warned Japan against actions that could lead to a deterioration in bilateral relations.
“Recently, the Japanese side has taken a number of negative actions on issues related to China, which have caused serious damage to political trust between the two sides, created obstacles to efforts to develop bilateral relations”, – said in a statement published on the official website of the diplomatic mission.
“We recommend that the Japanese side strictly adhere to the four political documents and the corresponding obligations, and also ensure that Sino-Japanese relations do not return to the same thing, do not stagnate, do not regress. We call on the Japanese side to avoid falling into the maelstrom of confrontation between the major powers”.
Earlier, the Chinese Embassy in the United States also protested against the statements of the leaders of the United States and Japan regarding China. As noted in the document, the issues of Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, as well as the East China Sea and the South China Sea affect the fundamental interests of the PRC and do not allow outside interference.
