Serbia is interested in increasing the volume of Russian gas supplies, said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic Nikola Selakovic in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Serbia is interested in increasing the volume of gas supplies, as our needs are growing every year”, – he said, answering a question about a possible extension of the existing or concluding a new contract for the supply of gas from Russia.
According to him, the share of foreign direct investment in Serbia has increased to 62% of their total volume in the region.
“Even in the era of a pandemic, we are very interested in the arrival of foreign investors in Serbia, which means we need to increase gas supplies. And I am absolutely sure that we will discuss this issue with our Russian partners”, – the Serbian Foreign Minister said.
Selakvich also expressed confidence that the implementation of the Turkish Stream project will guarantee Serbia a higher level of energy security than before.
