Assistant to the President of Russia Yuri Ushakov invited US Ambassador John Sullivan for a conversation, where he outlined the Russian ambassador’s response to new sanctions from the United States. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“In accordance with the decisions made, the aide to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov invited the US Ambassador to Russia Sullivan on Friday and explained to him the Russian side’s response to the sanctions against Russia announced by the United States the day before”, – Peskov said.

Earlier it was reported that on Thursday, April 15, US President Joe Biden signed a decree on the introduction of new sanctions restrictions on Russia. In particular, Washington has banned American companies from directly buying debt securities issued by the Central Bank, the National Wealth Fund or the RF Ministry of Finance.

The Kremlin said that Moscow will act in accordance with the principle of reciprocity, but the final decision on retaliatory sanctions against the United States will be made directly by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
