As the Correspondent writes with reference to the press service of the Health Department of Canada, the Canadian regulator has confirmed the connection between vaccination with the drug AstraZeneca and the formation of blood clots.
“Health Canada is informing Canadians and healthcare professionals of the current safe review of very rare blood clots associated with low platelet counts after receiving the AstraZeneca and COVISHIELD COVID-19 vaccines. After a detailed independent analysis of the currently available scientific data, the department came to the conclusion that these very rare cases may be associated with the use of the vaccine”, – it was reported.
Cases of thrombosis are extremely rare, the department said, updating information on the drug to warn Canadians of possible side effects. At the same time, the department did not introduce new restrictions on the use of the vaccine.
“In the very rare event that a vaccinated person develops unusual blood clots with a low platelet count, there is a cure for this”, – the department added.
