From May, the cost of gas for Ukrainians will rise to 8 hryvnia (about 0,29$) per cubic meter of gas. This was told by the head of the department of housing and communal infrastructure of the Public Council at the Kyiv City State Administration Oleg Popenko.
The expert noted that usually in the summer the gas price for the population falls to 4-4.5 hryvnia per cubic meter. However, this time the annual tariff will be formed at the “peak of the price”.
“The annual gas tariff is formed on the basis of the prices that were for the previous six months. That is, in fact, Ukrainians are offered an annual tariff based on gas tariffs at the peak of the price. Because this is during the heating season”, – Popenko stressed.
According to him, taking into account its own gas production in Ukraine, its cost is about 2.6 hryvnia (7 rubles), and prices on the European exchange in the summer fall to 4 hryvnia (10.8 rubles). However, the tariff for the population over the next year will be 8 hryvnia (22 rubles).
“In fact, they will milk us stupidly”, – the expert concluded.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) office in Ukraine, Josta Lyngman, urged Kiev not to return to control over gas prices, as this “could lead to the abuse of resources due to corruption and curbing the implementation of energy efficiency”.
