The head of the State Duma Energy Committee Pavel Zavalny said that by the end of the summer it is planned to complete all work on the Nord Stream-2 project, TASS reports.
“We very much hope that by the end of the summer all work on the project, on commissioning, gas supply will be completed”, – Zavalny said at a meeting with deputies of the German Bundestag.
According to the head of the State Duma Committee on Energy, if the construction of the pipeline is completed on time, that is, “it is hoped that by the end of the summer, Germany will receive the first gas”.
Nord Stream-2 envisages the construction of two strings of a gas pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the shores of Russia across the Baltic Sea to Germany.
The pipeline construction operator Nord Stream-2 AG said that the readiness of Nord Stream-2 is 95%. To complete the project, 121 km of pipes remain to be laid.
