Despite the recent call to Putin, the American president has launched a new round of the sanctions war against Russia.
According to RT, citing information from the White House, US President Joe Biden signed a decree imposing sanctions on Russia.
“Today, President Biden signed a new sanctions executive order, which provides for increased powers to demonstrate the administration’s determination to respond to harmful external activities by Russia and contain it in full”, – the US administration said.
In particular, the United States is imposing sanctions against 32 Russian individuals and legal entities for allegedly “attempts to influence the US presidential elections in 2020 and other acts of disinformation and interference”.
The report also states that the United States is imposing sanctions on six Russian technology companies. In addition, according to RIA Novosti, the United States is expelling ten members of the Russian diplomatic mission in Washington.
“The United States is expelling ten members of the Russian diplomatic mission in Washington. Among the employees there are representatives of the Russian special services”, – the American administration said in a statement.
Earlier, Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, told RIA Novosti that if the United States imposes new sanctions against Russia, Moscow will not leave them unanswered; when diplomats are expelled, a mirror response will follow “on the relevant positions”.
