The French government estimates the damage caused to the country by the COVID-19 pandemic at €424 billion

It is estimated that the country’s economy will need support until 2022. Until then, according to Minister of Public Action and Accounts Olivier Dussopt, the authorities will gradually reduce state support to enterprises.
In total the three-year crisis will cost France 424 billion euros. At the same time, 158 billion will go to the country’s health system.
“For the most part, these three years are years of emergency and recovery measures”, – said Dussopt. – “2021 is a combination of crisis response and recovery plan implementation, and 2022 is the second year of the recovery plan with a planned 40 or 50 billion.”
