US President Joe Biden has selected Christine Wormuth to head the US Department of the Army – so she could become the first woman in the position
This is reported by The New York Times, citing Pentagon sources.
If approved by the Senate, Wormuth would take control of the largest unit of the US military.
Wormuth would join other women appointed to senior Pentagon positions, including Kathleen Hicks, undersecretary of defence, and Kelly Magsamen, chief of staff to Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin.
