Despite government incentives, millions of US residents cannot even pay their bills
The coronavirus pandemic has hit hard in the United States, where authorities have long ignored the problem. Now they are trying to support the economy there with government support, but even this does not solve all the problems of Americans.
An Associated Press poll of 2,400 people from February 12 to March 3 shows that the financial condition of 55% of citizens is the same as a year ago. At the same time, 15% – about 50 million Americans – are facing money shortages. 10% a year after the start of the pandemic cannot even pay their bills.
Statistics show that the financial situation varies by race as well. Blacks and Hispanics are about twice as likely as whites to say they couldn’t pay their bills.
