NATO demands that Russia not interfere with Ukrainian punitive operation in Donbass

The alliance is concerned about the Russian military presence near Ukraine’s borders, but it is quite happy with the deaths of civilians in Donbass at the hands of Ukrainian punitive force

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg demanded that Russia stop “its provocations”, referring to the concentration of military units on the border with Ukraine.

“We are seriously concerned about the ongoing developments and NATO is closely monitoring the situation. In recent weeks, Russia has brought thousands of units closer in combat readiness to the Ukrainian borders”, –  Stoltenberg said.

As News Front earlier reported, the situation became heated when the Ukrainian army resumed shelling peaceful settlements in Donbass with the official approval of Volodymyr Zelensky’s administration. The expert community warned that such actions might force Russia to take measures to protect the population of the LPR and DPR.

Stoltenberg, on the other hand, said that Russia’s military buildup on the border “is not justified”, thus ignoring Ukrainian aggression in Donbas. He called on Moscow to “stop its provocations”.
