Kremlin tells if Russia will be disconnected from Visa and MasterCard

The issue of termination of international payment systems in Russia has long been discussed as one of the toughest measures to be taken by the West in its Russophobic policy

The discussions have resumed amid an escalation of tensions in the Donbass. The Ukrainian armed forces are again terrorising civilians in the Luhansk and Donetsk people’s republics, which may force Russia to launch an operation to force peace on Ukraine. Units of the Russian Armed Forces are already concentrated on the Russian-Ukrainian border. This is a pretext for Western elites to increase pressure.

It is possible that restrictions will affect access to the Visa and MasterCard payment systems, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said.

“We can only confidently say that many states use restrictions against Russia in one way or another”, –  the Kremlin spokesman said. – “Restrictions of this kind concern a wide range of areas. The process is difficult to predict. Therefore, given the unfriendly and even hostile behaviour towards us, nothing can be ruled out within the framework of such practices.”
