US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will travel to Brussels next week for talks on Iran, Afghanistan as well as Ukraine, which could face the Russian army due to aggression in Donbass
Blinken will join Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, who is already in Brussels, Reuters reported, citing an unnamed official. The trip to Europe by two members of the Joe Biden administration coincided with escalating tensions in Donbass.
As News Front reported, the Luhansk and Donetsk people’s republics are now once again facing Ukrainian aggression. The silence regime, which Ukrainian President Zelensky was so proud of, lasted exactly until local elections in the country ended. Since then, tensions on the line of contact have been rising and the rhetoric of Ukrainian officials has become increasingly harsh.
Eventually, the National Security Council of Ukraine allowed the punishers to open fire on peaceful settlements in Donbas, and the shelling became more frequent and intense. Although the Ukrainian armed forces have so far refrained from a full-scale offensive, the expert community is pointing to signs of an impending assault. Even in Ukrainian military circles admitted that only an order is needed to launch such an attack.
Such actions by Kiev may also force Moscow to react proportionately, given that there are hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens living in Donbass today. The deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Dmitriy Kozak, as well as the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolay Patrushev, spoke about this.
