Most of the funds will go towards raising military salaries, CNN reports.

In an interview with Zhurnalisticheskaya Pravda, military political scientist Alexander Perendzhiev told where the money allocated to the Pentagon would actually go.

“There is nothing new in the situation. American presidents are constantly demanding money from Congress to contain Russia and, more recently, China. Both Trump and Obama have done this. There is no need to rack your brains, everything follows the usual path. Washington is heating up relations with Russia with the help of official Kiev: by order from the White House, tension is being created around Donbass. The United States has been doing business for a relatively long time under the name of the “Russian military threat”, to which the Chinese one has also been added”, – the expert is convinced.

According to Perendzhiev, the events around Ukraine are just a diversion for the United States, and the Pentagon’s money will go to fight Russia and China in the Arctic.

“The tension around Donbass is intended to pull the forces of Russia to the south, to divert attention from the Arctic. Even provocations on our eastern borders, primarily in the Pacific Ocean, are distracting maneuvers. The Americans are getting ready to fight for Arctic resources in full”, – the political scientist believes.
