Most Germans are ready to be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine if it is approved for use in the EU.
As Evropeyskaya Pravda writes with reference to DW, the results of a poll conducted by the YouGov institute commissioned by the German business publication Handelsblatt show that 55% of respondents are not opposed to being vaccinated with a Russian drug if the European Medicines Agency (EMA) registers it.
“German Health Minister Jens Spahn announced on April 8 that he intends to conduct bilateral negotiations with Russia on the possible supply of the Sputnik V vaccine if approved by the EU”, – the statement said.
At the same time, according to Censor.NET, citing Interfax-Ukraine, the Wall Street Journal reported that two mass vaccination sites in North Carolina and Colorado temporarily closed this week after some people experienced adverse effects after receiving an injection with Johnson & Johnson.
“In North Carolina, vaccinations were suspended on Thursday after 18 people were diagnosed with adverse reactions. According to Wake County health officials, four people were taken to local hospitals for examination”, – the American publication writes.
“Before the closure of the center, more than 2.3 thousand people were vaccinated. County officials said the decision was made in conjunction with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as a precautionary measure, in consultation with Johnson & Johnson”.
