Foreign Ministry says the West does not want to notice the tragedy in Donbass

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, speaking about the deaths of children in Donbass, said that the West does not want to notice the humanitarian tragedy that unfolded in eastern Ukraine.

“Monstrous crimes are not only (against) one child, but hundreds of children (killed) at the hands of militants in the center of Europe in the first quarter of the 21st century with information and moral support from Western curators (Ukraine), including the European Union, and directly from Brussels, many other international structures, I emphasize this, due to the fact that they do not see and do not want to notice the humanitarian problems, and not the tragedies that unfolded in this region of Europe”, – Zakharova said at the briefing.

Earlier, the DPR People’s Militia Department announced the death of a five-year-old child as a result of dumping ammunition from UAVs of Ukrainian security officials in the village of Aleksandrovskoye in the north of the DPR.

At the same time, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission was unable to establish the type of weapon and ammunition that caused the death of a five-year-old child in Donbass.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup d’etat in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13 thousand people became victims of the conflict. The issue of resolving the situation in Donbass is being discussed, including during the meetings in Minsk of the contact group, which since September 2014 has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict. However, after the armistice agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
