The head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau, who urgently flew to Kiev, met with his colleague Dmitry Kuleba and promised to fully support Ukraine.
“Dmitry Kuleba informed Zbignev Rau in detail about the systemic aggravation of the security situation by Russia in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the collection of Russian troops to the borders of our state”, – the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
Rau expressed concern about “Russia’s actions” and assured that Warsaw would fully support Ukraine in “the struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity”. The Polish diplomat also expressed support for Ukraine’s course towards acquiring full membership in the EU and NATO.
Earlier it was reported that at the initiative of British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, representatives of the defense departments of the United States, Canada, Poland and Lithuania discussed the situation in the Donbass.
Probably, the US instructed Warsaw to convey to Kiev a certain consolidated position of the five countries that had discussed the Donbass problem the day before. It seems to me that this is a kind of analogue of the Coalition of the willing, that is, a group of anti-Russian-minded countries that show the greatest interest in the development of events in eastern Ukraine. In addition, they have similar political views on the causes of the conflict, its dynamics, and who is responsible for escalating it.
