Pavel Kurochkin, Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Yerevan, said that the first batch of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine was delivered to Armenia.
“Today, at Zvartnots airport, together with the leadership of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Armenia, we met the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine purchased by the Armenian side. These are 15 thousand doses of the vaccine, which, as I understand it, will be aimed at vaccinating the population at risk. This is a continuation of the large-scale support provided to Armenia by the Russian Federation”. – Kurochkin said.
Currently, the number of people infected with coronavirus in Armenia is 198 898, and 3 647 patients have died from complications. The planned delivery of the Sputnik V vaccine was announced by the Prime Minister of the Republic Nikol Pashinyan after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
