The German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, following Bavaria, announced its intention to conclude a memorandum on the supply of the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus, the NDR television and radio company reported with reference to the Minister of Health of the state, Harry Glave.
According to the TV channel, Glavė already wants to send an agreement for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to Moscow.
“The negotiations have been coordinated with the State Chancellery,” NDR notes.
The minister expects that the Russian vaccine can be used as early as late May or early June. The costs will be borne by the federal authorities, part of the land will cost about 10 million euros, according to the TV channel.
“We are interested in long-term cooperation with Russia”, – the n-tv channel quoted the Head as saying. In addition, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is examining whether companies in the region can pack or manufacture the vaccine, he added.
The head of the German Ministry of Health, Jens Spahn, said earlier that Germany would bilaterally talk with Russia about the Sputnik V vaccine. At the same time, he noted that it is necessary to find out when and in what volume the drug can be supplied.
