A number of soldiers have been detained in Poland for assaulting bystanders and corruption

A number of members of the Polish Armed Forces have been arrested in Krakow. The reasons for the arrests were corruption and a series of attacks on passers-by, reports EurAsia Daily

Soldiers of the 6th Command Battalion led by the unit commander Lieutenant Colonel Marcin M. are accused of corruption in the organization of military conscription. The battalion commander was arrested for three months. According to investigators, the lieutenant colonel planned to enlist two people into professional military service in his unit for a bribe of 6,000 and 10,000 zlotys (about 117 and 196 thousand rubles).

A 42-year-old former soldier was also detained on suspicion of a series of attacks on passers-by. According to investigators, the man stabbed passers-by with an awl for no reason and once chained the leg of one of the passers-by. The former soldier was charged with six counts.
