The U.S. Air Force is accurately reproducing a large-scale air war of the great powers. It was reported in an article for The National Interest by columnist Chris Osborne, who suggested that this way America is preparing for World War III
He noted that the US Air Force regularly conducts Red Flag exercises in which attacking forces are presented as a complex set of interrelated variables, threats and problems typical of real-world combat.
The author also cites a US Air Force report which states that the purpose of Red Flag is to prepare armed forces for “multi-domain” warfare.
“Air combat tactics remain the main focus of the Red Flag exercise scenarios, but the threats that may emerge in space and cyberspace are also taken into account. Thus, armed forces must be prepared to respond and overcome any enemy obstacles”, – the author believes.
