Swiss police used rubber bullets and tear gas during riots by anti-gay protesters. The clashes took place in the town of St Gallen and bottles, stones and Molotov cocktails were thrown at police officers.
Law enforcers had to defend themselves, according to the Swiss agency’s website. Two people were injured. Police detained 19 people but released them after questioning. Only a 25-year-old Swiss national was arrested.
The damage caused by the protesters was estimated at more than $53,000.
