Russian President Vladimir Putin and the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in a telephone conversation confirmed the intention to develop bilateral relations, the Kremlin press service reported.
“Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Chong”, – the message says.
It is noted that the Russian leader congratulated Nguyen Phu Chong on his re-election to the post of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and also conveyed congratulations to the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who took office on Monday.
“Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further dynamic development of the entire range of Russian-Vietnamese ties in accordance with the declaration on strategic partnership, the 20th anniversary of which is celebrated this year”, – the message adds.
Also, Vladimir Putin and Nguyen Phu Chong discussed the fight against coronavirus, deepening contacts on the supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, the Kremlin press service reported.
“The issues of cooperation in the trade, economic, energy, scientific, technological and humanitarian fields were substantively considered. Prospects for the joint fight against coronavirus infection, as well as deepening contacts between the relevant departments of the two countries on the supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, were discussed”, – the statement said.
In addition, during the exchange of views on topical issues of the international agenda, an interest was emphasized in continuing close interaction within the framework of multilateral associations, including at the UN platform and through the Russia-ASEAN dialogue.
