Kyrgyzstan plans to purchase “Sputnik V” for $2.5 million

Kyrgyzstan will buy the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia for 215 million soms – about $2.5 million, Kyrgyz Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said, 24.kg reports.

According to the chief physician of the republic, today is April 5, he intends to discuss this issue with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Murashko.

Earlier, Bishkek and Moscow agreed to supply Kyrgyzstan with 500 thousand doses of vaccine free of charge. However, according to Beishenaliev, this consignment will arrive in the country no earlier than late May or early June, and paid vaccines may be delivered earlier.

The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan expects that the third wave of the pandemic will come to the country in May-June. Before it begins, it is planned to vaccinate about a million people against coronavirus. So far, the Chinese vaccine delivered to the country as humanitarian aid is being used.

Recall that the vaccination campaign in Kyrgyzstan started on March 29.
