Sandu says Moldovan citizens want to be vaccinated with “Sputnik V”

Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that many residents of the republic want to be vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Russian drug Sputnik V.

Sandu noted that it is currently extremely difficult for Moldova to obtain a vaccine against coronavirus. The consignments that are used to immunize the residents of the republic were received through the COVAX platform and donations from Romania.

Earlier it was reported that the head of Moldova sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to donate the Sputnik V vaccine to the republic. However, she said, no response had yet been received.

“It is very difficult for us to sign sales and purchase agreements. We’ve sent letters asking for donations or asking if they have additional vaccine lots to sell to us. We are waiting for answers from these countries. Moldova must save the lives of its citizens. This is my main concern. There are citizens in Moldova who want to be vaccinated with Sputnik V”, – Sandu said in an interview with the Romanian portal G4media.
