Last evening, the Ukrainian president still waited for the master’s call
And, as it turned out, the head of the United States condescended to talk with Vladimir Zelensky for a reason. And the point is not that Joe Biden gave another valuable instructions, and without him there are enough characters who voice the will of Washington. In addition, he did not say anything new: that the United States was seriously going to reform Ukraine and support shoulder to shoulder in the development of democracy, and so it was known. But the American guarantor cheered up his Ukrainian colleague, encouraging him to take active actions in the Donbas, directed primarily against the civilian population of the region.
The directive was traditionally clothed in pompous slogans. Washington will continue to support Kiev “in the face of Russian aggression in the Donbass and Crimea”, Biden repeated the line that has already been heard more than once from the lips of American politicians. He also said that the United States will help preserve “the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”. It is noteworthy that, according to the press service of the American government, the conversation was extremely businesslike and practical. However, in Ukraine, the long-awaited conversation caused a storm of emotion and tears of delight. Zelenskiy’s spokeswoman Yulia Mendel called him “amazing”. And in Kiev they literally understood it as the launch of a signal rocket, at least for a demonstrative provocation.
As reported by LuganskInformTsentr, yesterday the Ukrainian Armed Forces used artillery for the first time since the end of July when shelling the territory of the LPR, the settlements of Zolotoe-5, Lozovoe, Kalinovo-Borshchevate and Golubovskoe. The fire was conducted from 122-mm artillery guns, 82-mm mortars, SPG-9 anti-tank grenade launchers, AGS-17 automatic heavy grenade launchers and RPG-7 hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers. Because of the next attacks by Ukrainian militants, people had to hide in basements. At the same time, according to the residents of the areas under fire, the armed forces of the LPR are not responding to the Ukrainian security forces with strikes for strikes.
Earlier, the LPR called on the OSCE to record Kiev’s violation of the ceasefire in the Donbass. Yesterday, the DPR also accused Ukraine of 24 similar cases. However, Western observers traditionally do not react to the criminal actions of Kiev militants, accusing Russia and the People’s Republics of aggression. And, as mentioned above, in parallel, the curators give out generous promises of support to the Ukrainian regime.
But behind all these slogans on duty, there is no information about really specific help. Washington follows its favorite principle of raking in the heat with someone else’s hands, not intending to spend more or less decent resources to support Ukrainian performers. It is no coincidence that the other day Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, confirming “the US commitment to building the potential of Ukrainian forces for more effective protection against Russian aggression”, immediately recalled that Washington has allocated more than $2 billion to Ukraine in security assistance since 2015. That is, Kiev was clearly indicated that assistance had already been received, and that it should not count on additional preferences, and it was time to work out the will of the owner for free.
Tellingly, the same card was played in 2008 with the then President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili. He was also supported in telephone conversations. On the eve of the adventure in South Ossetia, the head of the US State Department, Condoleezza Rice, assured him of Washington’s support. As a result, Saakashvili went to Tskhinvali. What the Georgian courage led to and where Saakashvili himself is now is well known. And today the situation is repeating itself.
At the same time, despite the euphoria after the owner’s call, Bankova is well aware that the task of successfully attacking Donbass is utopian. Therefore, preparations for the offensive are in full swing, but with the awareness of inevitable failure. However, it is precisely this failure that is important for the overseas regional committee, which is also recognized in Kiev.
After the valiant Ukrainian army receives the full program, the Western democratic army will have an even more compelling reason for another crusade against Moscow. And its goal is quite obvious – to curtail the construction of Nord Stream-2, which is so preventing the Americans from feeding obstinate Europe with their expensive liquefied natural gas.
That is, after the escalation of the conflict in Donbass, interests will sublimate, and the annoying project may be suspended again. Naturally, the United States does not take into account the catastrophic consequences that await Ukraine in the event of an offensive. This state has long been a consumable for curators.
But in the EU, despite the fact that the degree of Russophobia is off scale, they still recognize the danger of overseas appetites. It is no coincidence that a recent conversation between the Presidents of Russia and France, Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, confirmed that there was no alternative to the Minsk 2015 Package of Measures as the basis for resolving the internal conflict in the country. Zelensky, as you know, was not invited to the conversation, realizing the uselessness of the presence of this character, dependent on the will of Washington.
