A total of 18.1 million doses of the drug have been administered in the country as of March 24
The UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority has reviewed 30 reported cases of thrombosis since the AstraZeneca vaccine was administered in the country.
“Our review included a detailed analysis of 30 reports of low thrombocyte clots we received up to and including 24 March”, – reads the text of the review, which was published on Thursday on the authority’s website.
The regulator stressed that no such reports had been received regarding the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
“The benefits of COVID-19 vaccines continue to outweigh any possible risks”, – the regulator said.
Earlier, as a precautionary measure, a number of countries had suspended use of AstraZeneca’s vaccine following reports of blood clotting disorders, but most countries resumed use of the drug some time later.
