US ‘puppets’ in Bundestag call for moratorium on Nord Stream 2 completion

Gas pipeline from Russia to Germany via the Baltic Sea is currently 95% complete and may be completed by September

According to Korrespondent, on Wednesday, March 31, DW newspaper, citing WirtschaftsWoche, reported that the coordinator of transatlantic cooperation under the German government, Bundestag MP Peter Bayer called for a moratorium on the completion of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2.

“The project is a serious stumbling block to the resetting of transatlantic relations”, –  Wirtschaftswoche quoted the German official as saying.

According to Peter Baier, the Americans expect Berlin not only to change its rhetoric, but also to do “appropriate things”.
It is worth clarifying that transatlantic cooperation is one of the structures through which the U.S. exerts influence on the domestic politics of the FRG.
