The session will be held in a hybrid format from 19-22 April
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will take part in the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which will be held in a hybrid format from 19 to 22 April. This was stated in a communiqué issued by the organisation on Thursday.
“German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Minister of State for Europe at the German Foreign Ministry Michael Roth will participate in the spring session of the PACE, which will be held in a hybrid format April 19-22, on the occasion of Germany’s chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe”, – the communiqué said.
European Parliament President David Sassoli, Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Council of Europe Secretary General Marija Pejcinovic-Buric also intend to address the session. “Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic will present her annual report for 2020,” the PACE added.
One of the topics of the session will be the problems of human rights protection.
“The work of the OECD in developing a digital tax will be discussed”, – the organisation said.
The organisers did not specify which speakers intend to visit Strasbourg in connection with the session. The hybrid format also involves working from a distance.
