This is the third high-casualty shooting in a month
TASS reports that four people, including a child, were killed and one injured in a shooting in the city of Orange, California, this Wednesday. According to local police, the shooter was apprehended and sent to hospital after a shoot-out with law enforcement officers.
“Police officers arriving on the scene heard gunshots, located the suspect, there was an exchange of gunfire involving a police officer. Four people died on the spot”, – police spokesperson Jennifer Amat told reporters on KTLA TV, adding that the suspect was hospitalised at a local medical facility after being apprehended and “no threat to the public”.
The street where the shooting took place has been closed off and investigators are working there.
“We haven’t had an incident like this in the city of Orange since 1997, this is a real tragedy for the families of the victims, our community and the police department. We offer our condolences”, – concluded Amat.
