The chairman of the Austrian Medical Chamber, Thomas Sekeres, has advocated the start of the RF vaccine against COVID-19, Sputnik V, in Austria before the European Medicines Agency’s decision
“We have experts who can give their assessment, there is still the possibility of national registration. I am sure it is possible to start vaccination already in case registration by the EMA is delayed”, – he added.
Earlier, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the country could place an order for the Sputnik V as early as next week.
Sekeres said he was happy about the possibility: “If there is such a possibility, I am very happy about it. And the procurement of this vaccine should be done as soon as possible.
