The Russian side has fulfilled its obligation to supply the COVID-19 vaccine
Hungary has received another batch of Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine, the country’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said. A total of 1.1 million doses of the drug were received, without which Hungary would experience “enormous problems”, according to the minister.
To date Russia has fulfilled its obligations to Hungary under the contract for the supply of vaccines, Szijjártó added.
As News Front earlier reported, the European Union is currently experiencing serious problems with vaccination. The reason for this is the infamous AstraZeneca vaccine. The manufacturer of this medicine first conceded that it was unable to supply vaccines to the European countries in accordance with the contractual conditions. The drug was later found to cause blood clots, which led many countries to reject its use.
Against this background, there is a growing interest among Europeans in the Russian drug. A delegation of European experts is expected to visit the Russian Federation in April to evaluate the results of the Sputnik V vaccine trials as well as its production.
