According to Senator of the Russian Federation Alexei Pushkov, the decision to hold talks between the heads of Russia, Germany and France without the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was correct.
Earlier it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss the situation in Donbass without Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. This was announced by the Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
“Negotiations between Putin, Macron and Merkel without Zelensky are the right decision. First, because not only Donbass will be discussed. Not everything in the relations of this Tripartie boils down to Ukraine, so that in Kiev they are indignant in vain. Secondly, because its participation in the negotiations does not give anything and does not advance the matter anywhere: Ukraine plays an exclusively destructive role in Europe at all levels – from PACE to OSCE”, – Pushkov said in his Telegram channel.
The politician also stressed that the situation in Donbass has been discussed with the Ukrainian authorities since 2015, but no progress has been made in resolving the current conflict. Kiev regularly sabotages the Minsk agreements, which, according to Pushkov, are the basis for solving the crisis.
