The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that will allow mobilizing reservists who have already served and have combat experience in a day.
At a meeting on Tuesday, 256 people’s deputies supported the law, according to which Ukraine will reform the military commissariats. Further, the document must be signed by the President of the country, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The bill concerns the introduction of a new type of service for reservists. This tool will allow very quickly, within 24 hours, in the event of an aggravation of the situation at the front or violation of the state borders, to attract an already existing reserve. This reserve of troops will include a small group of citizens who have already served and have combat experience”, – said the head of the parliamentary committee on national security and defense, Alexander Zavitnevich.
The document presupposes a reform in the military registration and enlistment offices: they will be turned into territorial centers of recruitment and social support. Also, an account will be created for reservists who will regularly visit the picking centers. Kiev is planning an electronic military register with other registries in the country.
Earlier it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada accused Russia of escalating the conflict in Donbass and called on the world community to continue and increase political and economic pressure on the Russian Federation.
