Residents of Moldova trust the Sputnik V vaccine more than other drugs for vaccination against COVID-19, according to a survey presented on Monday by the IMAS Institute for Marketing and Research.
Residents of Moldova were asked how much they trust the existing vaccines against coronavirus, 42% of respondents said they did not trust vaccines against COVID-19 at all.
At the same time, 31% of respondents said they trust the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, another 10% of respondents are ready to trust vaccines created in the West (Pfizer and AstraZeneca). In turn, 9% of respondents noted that they trust any vaccine. The remaining 8% of participants were unable to answer the question.
The poll was conducted from 9 to 23 March, 1115 people took part in it, the margin of error is 3%.
The Medicines Agency of Moldova at the end of February registered three vaccines against coronavirus – Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sputnik V. To date, vaccination in the country is carried out only with the first two drugs received free of charge.
On March 25, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said at a meeting with Russian Ambassador to the republic Oleg Vasnetsov that she was counting on Russia’s help in gaining quick access to the Sputnik V vaccine.
