According to German political expert Alexander Rahr, the US policy of extraterritorial sanctions is being met with more and more harsh opposition from official Berlin.
In an interview with Ukraina.ru, Alexander Rahr said that he would not doubt that if the United States decides to impose sanctions against German ports where ships participating in the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline are based, the FRG’s response will be extremely painful.
“It is difficult to imagine, since this is already a trade war against the structures of Germany itself, after which it will not be able to remain silent. It will have to answer, and very sharply”, – Rahr stressed.
Earlier, energy expert Konstantin Simonov suggested that the imposition of sanctions on German ports could be the next step of the United States, which does not stop trying to stop the construction of the Nord Stream-2 by any means.
Confirming the seriousness of the situation, German expert Alexander Rahr also said that Washington’s intention to impose personal sanctions against the former Bundeskanzler, and now the chairman of the board of the Nord Stream-2 operator Nord Stream 2 AG, Gerhard Schroeder “will open a black chapter in relations between America and Europe”.
