China agreed to invest $400 billion in Iran during the time period of 25 years in exchange for stable oil supplies.
As the Telegram channel Maslov writes, now Iran is an official part of the Chinese Belt and Road initiative.
“Investments will be directed to dozens of areas, including banking, telecommunications, ports, railways, healthcare and information technology. Military cooperation will also develop, including joint exercises, military research and new types of weapons. And, as expected, the exchange of intelligence”, – said in the message.
A few years ago, many in Iran criticized the too close rapprochement with China after Xi Jinping’s visit in 2016. But now “everything is different”: it is necessary to break the isolation.
“But China, as always, is flexible. Immediately after the successful deal with Iran, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Iran’s main rival, Saudi Arabia, as well as Turkey, and plans to visit the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman in the coming days. Well, so that no one is left unattended”, – the expert said.
